An access log is a text file that contains a complete list of all the files accessed by your site visitors. All of the files which were requested in one way or another shall be included, so when you have a PHP script application and a website visitor opens just the home page, for example, you might find numerous files in the log. This is because there are things on the home page which are embedded - parts of other Internet pages, pictures, etcetera. These files will be listed inside the access log, so you can get a full picture of the way your website works. The info is in plain text format, so the logs are occasionally termed "raw data" as well. An access log provides the name of each requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, and also the user’s IP address, Internet browser and OS. More info, like the referrer site, is sometimes supplied too. A log file could be processed by various desktop programs for statistical purposes as an addition to the web stats generated by your server.
Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting
Our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel includes a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are one of them. Once you sign in to your cloud hosting
account and navigate to this section, you'll find a list of all the domain names
and subdomains which you have. All it takes to enable the generation of access logs is to press a button that will be available next to each domain/subdomain. If the option is active, you shall see a download link along with the file size so far, so you shall be able to save the file to your laptop or computer and examine it or process it with some application. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect instantaneously, so if you no longer need one, you could stop it with only a click from the very same section of the CP. You will still be able to access the already generated content by clicking on the Download link.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our leading-edge hosting platform shall generate access logs for each Internet site hosted in a semi-dedicated server
account, provided that this feature is permitted. All domain names and subdomains that you have will be listed inside the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia Control Panel, that we provide with all of the accounts, so if you need our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should just click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and switch the default Off option to On. You can disable this function anytime by following the very same steps. You can find a Download link for each log inside the exact same section of the Control Panel, so you could save the content produced by our system in .txt format with just a mouse click. An existing log file could be downloaded even after the option has been disabled, so you will still be able to view the data that's already been generated.
